About Winery and Wines
Located in a picturesque courtyard at the foothills of Valpolicella, just outside Verona, Farina Winery is steeped in tradition and history. The winery's origins trace back to the early 20th century when the Farina family established their winemaking legacy in a beautiful 16th-century patriarchal home. This estate, accessed through a tuff arch adorned with an ancient coat of arms, reflects the deep-rooted passion for viticulture that has been passed down through generations. Today, the winery is run by cousins Alessandro and Pietro, alongside the dynamic third generation— Claudio, Elena, Nicola, and Davide — who continue to uphold the family’s commitment to excellence.
Over the years, the winery has grown both in size and reputation, combining the wisdom of traditional winemaking with innovative techniques. The estate’s vineyards, carefully nurtured and meticulously harvested, produce some of the most celebrated wines in the Valpolicella region, including Amarone and Ripasso. The family’s dedication to quality is evident in every step of the winemaking process, from the careful selection of native grape varieties to the scrupulous attention given to the drying phases essential for producing Amarone.
Visitors to Farina Winery are invited to immerse themselves in the rich culture of Valpolicella. The tasting rooms and reception areas, located within the historic home, provide a welcoming environment where guests can explore the flavors and aromas of the region’s finest wines.
Farina Winery, with over a century of winemaking tradition, is one of the most dynamic producers in the Valpolicella Classica region, renowned for its dedication to quality wines. The winery’s philosophy blends tradition with innovation, resulting in a range of wines that truly express the essence of the land. Farina is known for its classic Amarone and Ripasso, single vineyard crus, and innovative IGT blends.
The winery's commitment to excellence is evident in every bottle, from the careful selection of grapes to the meticulous processes in the cellar. The ancient cellar, rich in cultural identity, is still used for maturing Amarone in traditional large oak barrels. Complementing this, the modern cellar features state-of-the-art equipment, including refrigerated stainless-steel tanks, a variety of oak barrels and barriques, 75 hl concrete tulips, and newly acquired ceramic eggs, all of which contribute to the creation of wines with strong identity and character.
Over the last twenty years, Farina has made effective choices in innovation and sustainability, reinforcing its reputation with critically acclaimed milestone crus from single vineyards and original blends. With 70% of its production exported, Farina continues to build on its legacy, offering wines that captivate and impress wine lovers around the world.
