The Don Miguel is great but the younger wine also is well worth drinking. We just tried the wine and had a tour in the winery so I can't say anyting about the food. Winerys are there for wine though, aren't they?

About Winery and Wines
Comenge Winery, founded in 1999 by Jaime Comenge Puig, is nestled in the heart of the Ribera del Duero in Curiel de Duero, just 5 km from Peñafiel. Surrounded by 16 hectares of our organic Tempranillo vineyard, the winery offers magnificent views of the historic Castles of Curiel and Peñafiel, as well as the serene banks of the Duero River. Our mission has always been clear: to create fine wines by applying innovative research and sustainable practices. Certified organic since 2015, we work closely with prestigious universities to develop unique, natural winemaking processes. Our state-of-the-art facility, designed with modern simplicity, welcomes visitors year-round to explore the world of wine through tastings, vineyard activities, workshops, and gastronomic events. Recognized for our excellence, Comenge was awarded a Special Mention for "Best Wine Establishment" by the Wine Routes of Spain in 2011.
At Comenge Winery, we specialize in crafting elegant and complex wines that showcase the true character of Tempranillo. Our 16 hectares of estate-owned vineyards are sustainably farmed and organically certified, ensuring the highest quality grapes. We are pioneers in a patented triple selection process, which begins with handpicking, followed by a meticulous sorting of clusters and individual grapes, guaranteeing that only the finest fruit reaches fermentation. In collaboration with the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, we developed a unique wild yeast fermentation method, enhancing the natural qualities of the wine. Aging takes place in French oak barrels no older than three years, with the duration determined by each harvest’s characteristics to preserve the fruit’s aroma while adding finesse. Our wines are a perfect balance of tradition and innovation, offering full-bodied, refined flavors that reflect the essence of Ribera del Duero.
