Cantina Stroppiana

Winery in Langhe, Alta Langa, Barolo

About the Winery

Cantina Stroppiana is a family-run winery located in La Morra, managed by siblings Altea and Leonardo Stroppiana, with guidance from their parents, Dario and Stefania. The winery, founded by their grandparents in 1962, spans 8 hectares of vineyards, with 3 hectares in the prestigious Bussia cru in Monforte d'Alba, renowned for producing exceptional Barolo wines. Now in its fourth generation, the winery blends tradition with innovation, as Altea and Leonardo continuously implement new vineyard and winemaking techniques with the support of agronomists and oenologists.

The family places significant importance on creating engaging wine tasting experiences, believing that the best way to share their passion and dedication is through direct interaction with wine enthusiasts. They are committed to explaining the stories, efforts, and craftsmanship behind each bottle, offering visitors a deeper understanding of the wines, the family's legacy, and the Barolo region. This approach strengthens the connection between the winery, its patrons, and the land they cherish.

About the Wines

Cantina Stroppiana focuses exclusively on cultivating indigenous grape varieties from the Langhe area, with all production sourced from their own vineyards. Producing around 50,000 bottles annually, the Stroppiana family’s winemaking philosophy centers on letting the vineyard, grape variety, and terroir naturally express themselves. They emphasize balance and elegance while making Barolo more accessible and approachable for everyone.

The owner of the winery explained the background of the Stroppiana winery, the process, and the wines to us in great detail.
We tried 5 different wines and for each wine, there were detailed explanations.
Many thanks to Leonardo, who very competently introduced us to the world of Barolo.
It was a great experience for us.

Excellent tasting
Upon arriving at our destination, we were welcomed by the owner who explained his work with passion.
We were completely captivated, fascinated.
At the time of the tasting, for the chosen wines, he explained how it all came to be, I repeat, with passion and love.
The wife was very good and friendly in her role, trying to sell us some of their products.
We felt right at home.
An excellent experience to be repeated.

Like family
Beyond the professionalism and care in showing us the winery, telling us the history of the territory and in the wine tasting, what struck us was the wonderful atmosphere of a family-run business.
We had a great time and the wines were delicious!
