About Winery and Wines

Discover Château Coucy, where winegrowing heritage meets an exceptional terroir. Day after day, our commitment to the environment, our integrated viticulture and our passion shape this jewel and reinvent Bordeaux with finesse and elegance, awakening the heart.

Château Coucy's earned its first medal on 1895 at the Concours Général Agricole de Paris and is winegrowing heritage has always been preserved and perpetuated.

Since taking over the estate in 2017, Florence Galande and her team have managed to strike the right balance between the terroir and their expertise, to ensure that you enjoy a truly memorable experience.

Today, the estate's architecture is full of charm, with its exposed beams and rubble stone walls.

Located at the heart of a historically wine-growing region, Montagne is a village in Gironde that has managed to preserve and enhance its vines, withstanding successive invasions and conquests since Gallo-Roman times. This commune of the Grand Saint-Emilionnais hosts 12 of the most emblematic wine appellations.

Since 2017, we have continued to focus our work on respect for the environment. Several actions have been taken, both in the vineyard and in the winery, to preserve the biodiversity of our vineyard. Our approach has been rewarded by the award of the High Environmental Value (HEV) label, the highest level of certification.

Château Coucy is situated on a privileged terroir of clay-limestone inclines

Our grape varieties are 85 % Merlot and 15 % Cabernet Franc, and depend directly on the nature of the terroir.

Merlot, the emblematic grape variety of the Right Bank of the Garonnne river, produces wines with a high intensity of colour tending towards purple. Less tannic than the other Boordeaux grape varieties, it is rounded on the palate with intense red fruit aromas.

Cabernet Franc, another popular Bordeaux grape variety, offers aromas of red fruit and floral notes of violet. Combined with Merlot, the wines will have great supplness and aromatic finesse

Our wines :

Confidences - AOC Montagne Saint-Emilion : Complex and Structured
