Dégustation vins

Rate: 5 out of 5 10/1/23

About Winery and Wines

De Quarto Vitivinicoltori focuses on crafting natural wines from locally sourced and selected grapes cultivated in family-owned vineyards. Each stage, from cultivation to vinification in ancient cellars, is carefully overseen, ensuring a connection to their roots. With a legacy of five generations of winegrowing, the winery is located on the Ionian coast, an area known for its ancient viticultural history dating back to Greek colonization. Their wines are authentic reflections of the terroirs that have been cultivated for centuries.

De Quarto Vitivinicoltori is dedicated to producing natural wines from selected, local grape varieties, grown in family-owned vineyards on the Ionian coast—a region with a deep viticultural history dating back to Greek colonization. Their wines are crafted with minimal human intervention, following organic practices both in the vineyard and the cellar. By avoiding synthetic chemicals and additives, the winery allows the true expression of the terroir to shine through. Each wine holds European quality certifications (DOP, IGP) and is produced with minimal sulfites, ensuring authentic and wholesome wines.

Their natural approach includes using handpicked grapes from low-yielding, dry-farmed vineyards without pesticides or added sugars. They also avoid adjustments for acidity and external flavor enhancers, making sure their wines maintain their original flavor without the influence of oak barrels or chemical additives. Minimal filtration and natural precipitation processes preserve the purity of the wine. De Quarto’s commitment to traditional methods, coupled with modern standards of purity and sustainability, highlights their dedication to crafting wines that reflect the natural richness of the region.
