Decugnano dei Barbi
Winery in Lake Bolsena
About the Winery
Decugnano dei Barbi is a winery with a long history, dating back to 1212. Claudio Barbi bought the abandoned land in 1973 and began planting the first vineyards and building the winery.
In 1978, the first wines were born, including an Orvieto Classico, a red wine, and the first Metodo Classico from Umbria. In 1981, Claudio created the Pourriture Noble, the first noble rot produced in Italy.
Claudio's son, Enzo, continues his father's work today with the same passion and dedication.
