Domaine Beaumont
About the Winery
Owners of Domaine Beaumont, Sarah-Jane & Gérald Beaumont, a franco/anglo family, welcome you to their 3.55 hectres vineyard located in Distré, just outside Saumur, to discover a winemaker's world in the heart of the gentle Anjou region.
Domaine Beaumont, also known as Domaine des Chaffaux, established in 1852, resides on the former agricultural land and wine estate of the Abbey Saint-Florent, whose influence radiated well beyond the Anjou. Dating from the 10th Century until the Revolution, monks cultivated their vines here, and to this day Chenin, Cabernet Franc, and Chardonnay continue to flourish on this hillside.
About the Wines
Under the appellation Saumur, Domaine Beaumont produces a variety of organic, with no added sulfites, Chenin, Cabernet Franc and Chardonnay wines, each wine reflecting Gérald's inherent passion. Our 100% reds, 'Chemin du Bien', and 'Le Retour de Marion' capture the terroir. Our whites, 'Chenin Chardonnay', a refreshing blend of two grapes, and 100% Chenin 'Gabrielle', an oaked vinification, reflect the essence of what to expect from Loire Valley wines. Our 100% Chenin Extra Brut Nature non-dosé sparkling wine is worth celebrating!
