Amazing visit
At the tasting we were offered local delights wich tasted heavenly.
What I love about the place is that it was very personal, not so crowded and you could feel the passion.
A must visit ❤️

About Winery and Wines
Fattoria Uccelliera Holiday Farm was established in the late 1960s by Antonio Bulleri and Maria Elena Poggianti, driven by their passion for the countryside and forests. Today, two generations actively work on the estate, with the third generation already contributing during the off-school seasons. Each family member plays a unique role within the business, and everyone participates in making strategic decisions.
The hilly estate, known as "Poggi," is distinguished not only by its vineyards and centuries-old olive groves but also by its tall woodlands, extensive Populus Alba plantations, and arable land. The land is cultivated extensively, primarily to provide a natural yet rich environment for the local fauna, fostering a harmonious balance between agriculture and wildlife conservation.
The cellar at Fattoria Uccelliera, essential to the estate's production, and the numerous farmhouses dedicated to the holiday farm, have been restored using primarily ancient materials. This approach preserves the architectural features that have made Tuscany's rural charm so universally admired. The properties, with their timeless allure, are set in an unspoiled environment, blending harmoniously with the surrounding landscape to create a peaceful and serene atmosphere.
Recently, a fossilized coral reef, over a million years old, was discovered on the estate. At that time, the sea covered what is now the countryside, with a coastline much further inland. The area around Fauglia was once a protected shallow bay characterized by underwater meadows of Mediterranean plants, mollusks buried in the sediment, and seals. Closer to the shore, a coral reef flourished, home to a diverse range of marine life including oysters, sea urchins, and eagle rays. The significance of this paleontological site lies in the exceptional preservation of this ancient ecosystem, offering a fascinating glimpse into the region's geological history.
