Filippo Gallino

Cantina Filippo Gallino is a historic family winery located among the green hills of the Roero, just a few kilometers from Canale, in one of Piedmont’s most important wine regions. The winery is led today by Filippo and Maria, together with their children Gianni and Laura, who continue a passion for viticulture passed down through generations.

The roots of the Gallino family in winemaking date back to the late 19th century, when Stefano Gallino, born in 1886, was already producing Barbera and Nebbiolo wines. Later, Felice “Licin” Gallino and his son Filippo officially shaped the winery, contributing over the past 50 years to the growth and international reputation of Roero wines. In 1972, Cantina Filippo Gallino was among the pioneering wineries that revived Roero Arneis, helping transform it into one of Italy’s most appreciated white wines worldwide.

Today, the estate covers around 15 hectares of vineyards, cultivated with great respect for nature, prioritizing quality over quantity. Harvesting is carried out entirely by hand and involves the whole family, reflecting the artisanal spirit and dedication behind every bottle.

Cantina Filippo Gallino exclusively produces typical indigenous wines of the Roero, with meticulous attention to grape selection and an unwavering focus on quality. The winery has received important awards and recognitions from prestigious Italian wine guides including Gambero Rosso, Slow Wine, Bibenda, ViniBuoni d’Italia, and DuemilaVini.

The portfolio highlights the great native varieties of the territory, beginning with the iconic Roero Arneis DOCG, including the refined Roero Arneis Riserva “4 Luglio”. Red wines include Langhe Nebbiolo DOC, Roero DOCG “Licin”, and the prestigious Roero Riserva DOCG “Sorano”, alongside expressive interpretations of Barbera d’Alba, such as “Elaine” and “Bonora”.

The winery also produces the sparkling Metodo Classico “Seventy”, the lightly sparkling and aromatic Birbet, and “Chinchè”, a wine made from dried grapes. Each wine reflects the authenticity of the Roero territory, combining tradition, elegance, and a strong family identity.
