Located at the gateway to the Roero, overlooking the Langhe, in Castagnito, is Pqlin Winery, a family business with a 100-year tradition, since our grandfather Angelo, known as "Piculin," because the youngest of his brothers, began making wine for his family and later for friends, who appreciated the passion he put into tending the vineyards. The same passion that passed from my parents Eleuterio and Michelina, has been passed on to me Margherita, who will accompany you on a journey that will first let you discover how we produce and afterwards taste our wines; both in our cellar and in our vineyards. Pqlin where the Q, the protagonist of the logo, replaces the syllable /cu/, the beginning of a new day and a new winery. The sign of the sun rising among the hills of Roero marks the dawn of a new generation, ours, the fourth is waiting for you.

Bel Colle was born in 1978 from the will of the Pontiglione and Priola families, who at that time chose to invest in a peripheral territory, that of Verduno, yet rich in potential. It was a happy and far-sighted choice, which, thanks to the efforts of an enlightened oenologist, Paolo Torchio, led Bel Colle to become one of the most important wineries in Verduno, the first Italian producer of Verduno Pelaverga and one of the landmark symbols of the rebirth of this area. In the 1990s, the choice was made to invest in the native grape varieties of the Langhe, Nebbiolo for Barolo and Barbaresco, Barbera and Dolcetto. But Bel Colle was also far-sighted on whites, giving ample space to Arneis, Roero's princely variety, Favorita, and Nascetta, a rare indigenous variety of Novello. Under the leadership of Paolo Torchio, the winery's style was distinguished by its ability to produce clean, highly elegant wines with an austere femininity and finesse that made them instantly recognizable. Since 2015, Bel Colle has been owned by the Bosio family, which has relaunched the purchase and arrangement of the vineyards, focusing production on the highest quality expressions of the territory: Barolo, Barbaresco, Langhe Nebbiolo, Barbera d'Alba and Barbare d'Asti. At the same time, it relaunched quality work focused on native white wines, including Alta Langa, Piedmont's iconic Metodo Classico. Today the Bel Colle winery is run by Luca Bosio and Mario Albrito. Luca represents the new generation of the Bosio family, the courage to take new paths, and the desire to expand the vineyards in the most suitable areas, experimenting with the creation of new labels. Mario, on the other hand, is the historical memory of the winery. Born in 1963, he is a veteran of Langhe wine, with more than 40 years of harvesting behind him. A student of Paolo Torchio and a follower of his "native" oenology, he has been at Bel Colle since the early 2000s, a true expert on the terroir of Verduno and the surrounding hills. Their task is to put more than 40 years of winemaking excellence to good use through wide-ranging sustainable viticulture and winemaking that respects differences. An awareness that is combined with careful parceling of vineyards, from which to obtain single vineyards and labels that are increasingly representative of the inseparable bond that binds the Langhe to its wines.

Our family business was founded in 1800. Situated on a picturesque hill in Canale, in the center of the Roero wine region in Piedmont. We are a diversified company, which not only produces wine, but is dedicated to the breeding of Piedmontese cattle and the cultivation of fruit trees: the "round and gentle Langa" hazelnut and ancient varieties of apricots. The first traces of our family date back to the Middle Ages. The Rabinos, at the time lords of Bosia and Borgomale, were forced to flee the Alta Langa to protect themselves from frequent barbarian invasions. They found refuge in the Roero hills, in a valley that took the name Rabini. These lands that have welcomed us, the same ones that we still work and protect today, remained in the hands of our family over the centuries, allowing us to derive our livelihood through farming and cultivation. Wine production started in the mid-1800s: Antonio Rabino decided to buy some wooden barrels and make wine from his own grapes, a practice that was not very popular at the time. The first liters were reserved for family and friends, and didn’t represent any source of income, but Antonio dreamt of sharing with others what quickly became a passion. Thus he began to bottle, at a time when the concept of marketing of wine didn’t yet exist. He was one of the first to sell in bottles and, given the growing demand, seeing great potential in this small production.  From the time of Antonio to today many men have followed one another, teaching each other the art of working the land, trampling the same fields and taking care of the same vineyards. The continuity of our centuries-old history has meant that from generation to generation the experience was preserved, gradually adding bricks to what is now a solid and protective wall, which allows us to always focus on quality. Over time, the company has evolved by adopting the most modern techniques for processing, but remaining faithful to the cycle of nature. We can define ourselves sustainable, as almost all the resources used are produced directly in the company.

At Marchisio Tonino Winery, passion is the essence of its story—a narrative woven from the lives of individuals deeply connected to the Roero region, a place whose remarkable oenological allure has gained international recognition. The legacy of Brjnda, a name synonymous with quality, style, and personality in winemaking, continues to honor the virtues of its founder, Antonio Marchisio. Antonio Marchisio's story is a captivating one. A young and resilient soldier in the late 19th century, he served in the Prussian campaign and was a distinguished member of the Royal Guard. Despite numerous reports of him being missing, Antonio returned home safely after his time at the front. He greeted his family draped in an exotic overcoat made of foreign fabric, leading his loved ones to affectionately call him "Brjnda." This term, derived from "brindùr" — a reference to a distinctive wine container called "brenta" — became a family nickname that has endured through generations. During challenging times of rural neglect and countryside abandonment, Luigi Elio, a forward-thinking member of the family, bridged the old and new generations. Today, Tonino and his children, Mattia, Marco, and Martina, are the custodians of a rich heritage, preserving and sharing the values and expertise passed down through the years.

La Roerina winery began with a small step inspired by Nonno Giovanni and his passion for wine. Today, that same love for the craft, along with a deep-rooted belief in the value of hard work, has united everyone into one big family. As the saying goes, "A dream starts with a single step." During the years of the economic boom, in 1959, Martino Giovanni’s family left the Roero region and opened a wine shop with a wine bar service in the Turin area. The clientele quickly grew, developing a strong loyalty to the company. The family’s deep connection to their homeland eventually brought them back to the Roero region. The Bricco Stanteri and its small chapel became an important point of reference for the family. It was here, in the late 1960s, that La Roerina was founded. In the 1980s, the vineyard holdings expanded across the Langhe and Roero areas. With the experience gained over the years, La Roerina’s clientele and sales increased significantly. In the early 2000s, the family extended their passion for wine into the world of hospitality by establishing Hotel Munin, which became a reference point in the Roero for both Italian and international tourists. Today, the new generation has not only continued to produce traditional Piedmontese wines but also expanded the portfolio to include high-quality wines from both national and international terroirs, carefully selected for their excellence. Since the late 1960s, the focus has been on creating a business rooted in values connected to family and territory. The commitment to understanding the needs and preferences of clients has always been a priority. One question has remained at the forefront: what motivates a customer to place an order by phone or email? One answer lies in the careful attention and accuracy with which products are selected, ensuring only the best reaches those who appreciate fine wines. La Roerina continues to represent the best of Langhe and Roero, offering a selection of wines for home delivery under the "Laroerina - Selezione vini del Roero" label.
