About Winery and Wines
The Garrone Evasio & Figlio winery is a family-owned estate, now managed by the third generation: Marco and Dante Garrone, alongside Marco’s wife, Cinzia. Located in the picturesque hills of Monferrato Astigiano, their vineyards span 14 hectares across the villages of Grana, Montemagno, and Castagnole Monferrato. The Garrone family takes great pride in sustainable viticulture, ensuring minimal environmental impact while carefully maintaining the health of the soil. Their vineyards, some dating back to the 1980s, are harvested exclusively by hand, ensuring the highest quality of grapes from the start of the vinification process.
The winery boasts a blend of history and modernity. Wines are aged in an ancient cellar built by Evasio Garrone in the 1920s, where oak barrels, some over a century old, are used to create rich, complex wines. The production and bottling process takes place in a more modern facility built in the 1970s. Visitors are welcomed into a spacious tasting room that accommodates up to 50 guests, making it the perfect destination for wine enthusiasts who wish to explore the deep-rooted traditions of Monferrato winemaking.
Garrone Evasio & Figlio winery specializes in producing wines exclusively from indigenous grape varieties, offering a true expression of the Monferrato terroir. The portfolio includes the prestigious Ruchè di Castagnole Monferrato DOCG, a unique red wine with floral and fruity notes. The Barbera d'Asti DOCG Superiore and Barbera d'Asti DOCG are also standouts, showcasing the bold flavors and elegance of one of Piedmont’s most famous grapes.
Other highlights include Grignolino d'Asti DOC and Freisa d'Asti DOC, both traditional Piedmontese varieties with bright acidity and aromatic complexity. For those seeking something lighter, the winery also offers Monferrato DOC Dolcetto and Piemonte DOC Cortese, delivering fresh and easy-drinking options. Every wine produced at Garrone reflects the family's deep respect for their land and a winemaking philosophy centered on authenticity and quality, making each bottle a true celebration of Monferrato’s heritage.
