Gori Agricola

Winery in Colli Orientali

About the Winery

Gori Agricola, established in 2009 by Piero Gori, is a modern winery deeply rooted in the traditions of the "Colli Orientali del Friuli" region in Nimis, an area rich in history dating back to ancient Roman times. Piero's passion for his homeland inspired him to create a winery that seamlessly blends innovation with the time-honored practices of winemaking.

Our winery is a marvel of both form and function. Built into the hillside on three levels, it uses gravity to move wine through the production process, minimizing the need for mechanical intervention. This unique architectural design not only preserves the integrity of the wine but also reduces our environmental footprint. Visitors to Gori Agricola can expect to be captivated by the beauty of the landscape and the winery itself, all while experiencing the rich flavors and traditions of Friuli’s wine heritage.

About the Wines

At Gori Agricola, we craft a diverse range of wines that reflect the unique terroir of Friuli and our dedication to quality. Our red wines are a testament to the region's rich viticultural history:

Merlot D.O.C. Toni Vasût: This classic Friulian wine, despite its French origins, thrives in the foothills of the Alps. It offers a fresh and balanced profile, with the potential to age gracefully over time.

Pinot Nero D.O.C. Nemas I°: A globally renowned variety, Pinot Nero flourishes in Friuli’s cool climate, benefiting from the region's significant temperature variations to produce a wine of elegance and complexity. It's the masterpiece of our zinery.

Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso D.O.C. Re Del Bosco: An indigenous grape that excels in Friuli’s hilly terrain, this wine is bold and robust, with a distinct character that embodies the essence of the region.

Schioppettino D.O.C. Tita G: A rare native variety, Schioppettino thrives in well-exposed hillside vineyards, producing a wine that is rich, spicy, and full of character.

Our white wines highlight the versatility and beauty of Friuli’s grape varieties:

Chardonnay D.O.C. GiùGiù: An international variety that finds an ideal home in Friuli, offering excellent aging potential and a refined, characteristic flavor profile.

Ribolla Gialla D.O.C. Blanc di Bianca: A historic Friulian grape, Ribolla Gialla is light, refreshing, and perfect for easy, joyful drinking.

Friulano D.O.C. Bon Blanc: A quintessential Friulian white, Friulano is known for its versatility and ability to express the unique qualities of the region’s terroir.

Sauvignon D.O.C. Busse Ben: This variety thrives in Friuli’s cool climate, producing a wine that is crisp, aromatic, and beautifully balanced.

We also produce special wines that celebrate the region's rich heritage:

Metodo Classico D.O.C. Magnificat: A sophisticated sparkling wine made from 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay, Pas Dosé.

Ramandolo D.O.C.G. Oro di Nemas: A prestigious sweet wine that embodies the history and tradition of Nimis, made from carefully selected grapes to deliver a rich and complex flavor experience.

At Gori Agricola, every wine is a reflection of our passion for the land and our commitment to creating wines that are both authentic and innovative. We invite you to explore the unique flavors of Friuli through our carefully crafted wines.

Romantic tasting
My partner and I visited the Gori winery for a tasting and a tour.
It was explained to us very well how the different types of wine that this beautiful winery offers are made; we were able to see the different levels it expands over and, finally, tasted 4 excellent wines and their good Vermouth accompanied by a beautiful platter of cold cuts, some good cheese, bread, crostini and desserts at the end (all local).
An experience enriched by the romantic decorations since it was Valentine's Day.
Highly recommended, we will definitely be back.
We also compliment Leslie who welcomed us and accompanied us on this discovery of excellent flavors.

A cuddle for the soul
A very beautiful place, special wines like Pinot Noir and Ramandolo, the food offered with the tasting is also good. Everything is very well-kept and gratifies all the senses but what really makes the difference is always the human factor, the welcome, the explanations, the smiles, the people you meet in this place are as beautiful as the environment they have created and as good as the wines they produce.

Recommended Wine Tasting with Flair
Despite the short-notice booking, our wine tasting request (4 people) was accepted. A warm-hearted welcome, an informative tour of the production facility and wine cellar - competent and personable. Concluding wine tasting incl. culinary accompaniment in an extraordinary ambiance - all in all, highly recommended!

Pure Enjoyment
We had a wonderful wine tasting with a tour, viewing, and description of the vine cultivation and the wine, sparkling wine, and vermouth production. The food served with the wines paired excellently and was of very high quality due to its regionality.

Beautiful place
We were given a very friendly welcome by a young man who showed us around the winery and the production process.
We were allowed to choose the wines for the wine tasting. As we don't drink red wine, this was very good for us.
All the wines were very good. We also bought 1 box of the Pinot grigio.
We also received a rosé as a thank you.
We were able to choose from 2 meals that day as they were cooking for themselves.
Nevertheless, we chose the cold dish, which was very finely prepared and tasted excellent.
Might come again with other family members.

A wonderful experience
An enchanting place where you can taste excellent wines and get to know the local products better.
A must-try experience.
A thorough and complete explanation, starting from the company's history and going all the way to the details related to the production and the product itself.
Kind and welcoming staff, friendly but professional at the same time.
The tasting was accompanied by excellent local products.
Highly recommended.
