La Torretta
About the Winery
La Torretta, a historic winery of Piacenza, is located in the heart of the Tidone Valley. A valley in the western part of the province of Piacenza, bordering Oltrepo Pavese, an area with strong ties to winemaking. Its hills are full of vineyards, small villages, castles, and mills.
In 2015, the winery underwent a significant improvement by incorporating the neighboring winery of equal size, to create one of the biggest wineries in the Tidone Valley. The Marchesi Family, passionate promoters of this fusion, enriched the new La Torretta winery with an even greater number of varieties of quality vineyards with more international flavors. A welcoming environment remains one of the focal points of the winery which is open for guided tours as well as offering charming reception rooms to enjoy wine tasting paired with the famous DOP Piacenza salami with spectacular views of the Tidone Valley. The antique nucleus of buildings is the perfect setting for banquets and events.
About the Wines
At La Torretta, the focus is on producing traditional wines of the region, particularly Gutturnio and Ortrugo. Gutturnio is a red blend of Barbera and Bonarda, historically sparkling but now also available in a still version. Ortrugo is a sparkling white wine made from the Ortrugo grape, showcasing its crisp, refreshing character. In addition to these local specialties, the estate cultivates a range of international grape varieties to craft both red and white wines.

Very pleasant
Always call and book in advance
An afternoon at the winery
Wine tasting
I recommend it.
Sunday among the wines
I booked for 1 p.m., without knowing that the winery doesn't actually do tastings at that time. The owner was very kind and welcomed us in the best way, without asking us to change the time.
We had a good time and relaxed with some good wine and good accompanying food.
I recommend this experience to everyone: an hour from Milan and immersed in the Piacenza hills to spend a different kind of Sunday.
The only suggestion I feel I can give is that in relation to the numerous glasses of wine, the amount of food offered should be increased a bit, just to balance things out better.
