About Winery and Wines

My name is Susanna and I have been running a vineyard and winery for 15 years, producing local wines as part of a cultural and environmental historical recovery of a tradition that was being lost. That's why I have got IGP Ronchi Varesini denomination and also got the DE.CO municipal name of origin. The tasting in my estate will be done with tasting in the vineyard.

The farm has its winemaking heart in Albizzate on the row of morainic hills that orient themselves parallel to the Arno valley from north to south with optimal exposure to the south east at about 350 m above sea level. To the north, the Sacro Monte and Campo dei Fiori in Varese, in the evenings of September, bring down a breeze that lowers temperatures along the valley. A thermal gradient between day and night is generated which facilitates the maturation and acquisition of perfumes which we then find in wines. To the west the Monte Rosa massif dominates and to the east the view opens onto the valley with the villages of Albizzate, Carnago and Solbiate on the top of the hills. Albizzate is famous for the Visconti Oratory with its medieval frescoes and for the Castle. The Albizzate vineyard is made up of Nebbiolo and Merlot grapes with small quantities of Syrah, Vespolina, Freisa and Croatina for the reds and Chardonnay, Erbaluce and small quantities of Riesling and Malvasia for the whites.
