Le Sode di Sant'Angelo
About the Winery
Le Sode di Sant’Angelo estate is located in the hilly area of Montebamboli, in the heart of the Tuscan region of Maremma, in an area between the picturesque coast of Tuscany and the heights of the metalliferous hills.
The property covers 40 hectares in the Maremma DOC (Controlled Designation of Origin) region, divided among vineyards, olive groves, and various kinds of arable land. These lands, located between Grosseto and Siena, have been known since the time of the Etruscans for the presence of iron ore, copper, lead, zinc, and deposits of gypsum. It is in this Tuscan “Eldorado”, particularly rich in silica, clay, and minerals, that the highest quality wines are produced; these wines are characterized by intense aromas and pleasant scents. The constant presence of sea breezes, combined with the lack of spring rainfall, foster the perfect ripeness of the grapes, giving the wines an unmistakable qualitative note. Le Sode di Sant’Angelo is a perfect blend of history and modernity, tradition and innovation, humanity and nature.
The project was inspired by the estate's passion for Maremma and its features, and translates work into an art form, taking the best of what this land has to offer to produce wines that add value to the land, its roots, and its peculiarities.
Le Sode di Sant’Angelo produces sought-after products that export ‘Made in Italy’ quality all over the world. Their wines have unique and enveloping aromas and flavours that “tell the story” of the land of Maremma, the sun, the sea, and the atmosphere of the green Tuscan countryside.
About the Wines
The wine production at Le Sode di Sant’Angelo is strongly oriented towards quality and excellence. The estate produces about 30,000 bottles per year and tries to enhance the value of indigenous grape varieties such as Sangiovese, Alicante, and Vermentino Toscano. Their wines are the expression of a pure and uncontaminated territory. Fresh and vibrant the whites are also suitable for bottle aging, strong, and elegant red wines. Le Sode di Sant’Angelo believes that producing wine is a form of art. With every single bottle, the estate aims to leave an emotion and a memory to take home from this fantastic land.
