Luretta

Winery in Food Valley, Hills of Piacenza, Val Trebbia

About the Winery

Luretta Winery is an embodiment of exploration and innovation in the Colli Piacentini region, rooted in a deep respect for tradition. Located in the historic Momeliano Castle, which dates back to the year 1000, the winery operates in cellars that have remained intact for centuries. These medieval cellars provide an ideal environment for the aging of their most prized wines, with some maturing for up to eight years in oak barrels, filling the ancient fortress with the scent of wood and tradition.

The Salamini family, since 1988, has led Luretta with a clear vision—balancing ambition with the limits of the land, producing wines that spark curiosity and reflect the passion behind their creation. The winery uses organic farming techniques, ensuring that nature remains central to their winemaking process. By respecting the delicate balance of the environment and applying sustainable practices, they aim to create wines that not only tell the story of the land but also honor the biodiversity that surrounds them.

Luretta’s philosophy is to maintain a constant dialogue with nature, creating wines that leave a lasting impression from the first sip, reflecting the soul of the Piacenza hills and the rich history of the region.

About the Wines

Luretta is a winery with a distinct and enigmatic personality, encouraging wine lovers to explore uncharted flavors and experiences. The winery's philosophy of research and experimentation stems from the diverse Colli Piacentini region, where the Apennine peaks overlook the gentle hills and provide ideal microclimates for cultivating exceptional wines. With influences from both local and international grape varieties, Luretta combines a deep respect for tradition with a curiosity for the unknown.

The winery's vineyards, located in Val Tidone, Val Luretta, Val Trebbia, Val Nure, and Val d’Arda, benefit from these microclimates, which are perfect for producing the region’s renowned DOP wines. Since 1988, Luretta has interpreted the fruits of these lands, blending international grape varieties with local ones to create wines with names like Pantera, Achab, and Carabas. Behind these mysterious labels lie wines that exude elegance, sophistication, and balance.

Luretta’s red wines are a testament to the winery’s experimental spirit, blending the history of the Colli Piacentini with the richness of international varieties, delivering surprises in every sip. Their white wines — aromatic, fresh, and expressive — are equally captivating, showcasing the unique qualities of the region’s grapes.

The winery also excels in producing sparkling wines using the Metodo Classico, primarily from Chardonnay and Pinot Nero grapes, creating refined bubbles meant to turn any toast into a celebration. Additionally, Luretta’s Vermut, made from Malvasia Aromatica di Candia, is the only vermouth of its kind, offering a sweet yet herbaceous balance with a lingering bitter finish, making it a rich and velvety experience.
