Maison Lateyron - Château Tour Calon
(Winery in Bordeaux, Saint-Emilion)
About Winery and Wines
Maison Lateyron is a family-owned winery with deep roots in the Saint-Émilion area, dating back to the 18th century. Established by Jean Lateyron, the estate became known for its expertise in sparkling wines, particularly Crémant de Bordeaux, using the traditional method. Located in Montagne, with vast underground cellars, the estate has been passed down through generations and now focuses on sustainable practices. Today, siblings Corinne and Lionel Lateyron continue to honor tradition, blending scientific expertise with family heritage.
Maison Lateyron produces a renowned range of sparkling wines, particularly their AOC Crémant de Bordeaux, crafted with meticulous aging in underground limestone cellars. Their Crémant range includes the "Paulian" Blanc Brut (60% Sémillon, 40% Cabernet Franc), "Lateyron" Blanc Brut (80% Sémillon, 20% Cabernet Franc), and "Abel" Blanc Brut, made with old-vine Sémillon. In addition to sparkling wines, they produce red wines from prestigious appellations such as Montagne Saint-Émilion, Puisseguin-Saint-Émilion, and Pomerol, reflecting the richness of the Bordeaux terroir.
