Grande degustazione presso Cantina Marchisio Tonino

Degustazione di tre calici accompagnati da un tagliere spaziale!
Prodotti dolci e salati, nocciole, grissini buonissimi e formaggi strepitosi..
Vini tutti buonissimi, tra cui il bianco Arneis, il nebbiolo e un Barbera delizioso.
La Degustazione merita davvero tanto, a renderla ancora migliore è la passione e l'accoglienza che trasmettono tutti i membri di questa famiglia di vignaioli.
Siamo rimasti a chiacchierare per due ore mentre ci raccontavano tutti i segreti della loro terra.

About Winery and Wines

Passion is what we want to talk about at the Marchisio Tonino Winery. Passions and histories about people who weaved their lives together with a land called Roero whose undoubted oenological charm finally came into the international wine-producing limelight. Brjnda has been playing for a long time a leading role in the wine-producing scene based on quality, style, and personality. These were the same virtues belonging to the unforgotten founder Antonio Marchisio. The local chronicle tells about a young and strong soldier engaged in the Prussian campaign in the late half of the nineteenth century, a valued member of the Royal Guard for seven years. Several times reported missing, Antonio Marchisio not only came back home safe and sound after a long time spent at the front but he even presented himself to his family wrapped in an unusual, enchanting overcoat made of foreign fabric. His family and fellows welcomed him with the dialectal expression “te smij an brindùr”. “Brindùr” were people carrying a particular wine container called “brenta” recognizable for wearing a kind of smock similar in tailoring and style to Antonio Marchisio’s suit. That is why everybody started calling him the Brjnda, a nickname that passed on from father to son till today. During the hard years of countryside abandonment and rural areas undervaluation, the boost and enthusiasm of another enlightened exponent of the family, Luigi Elio, acted as a go-between for the old and new generations: these ones have found nowadays, in Tonino and his sons Mattia, Marco and Martina the ideal witnesses to which to transmit a rich baggage of values ​​and knowledge.

On the tapering hills around Alba, there is a name that evokes excellence: Castellinaldo, the home of the Marchisio Tonino Winery. Placed in the wine heart of Roero opposite to the Tanaro valley that separates the very closed Langhe, Castellinaldo is a small center completely plunged into the vineyards. The particular morphologic composition of these lands, alternating between loose marls and tuffaceous sediments, makes this area particularly suitable to obtain high-quality grapes turned into noble bottles by the old farmers’ wisdom. The many hills and vineyards facets are further prestige elements for the village's renown, already part of the oenological Piedmontese elite for years. On the top of a big marly hill turned south-southwest, in the northern part of the municipal district to Magliano Alfieri direction, you can find the 11 vineyard hectares run directly by the Marchisio’s. The hill called Rocca Cerretto is mentioned in the old documents of the village as an area destined for the production of great wine grapes and, for the above reason, it is between the most famous local cru. The many slope levels touched by sunny skies and the soil composition make the same vineyard suitable for different kinds of wines: on the top in bright sunshine all day long, lie Nebbiolo grapes devoted to the main home red wine. Then we find Barbera grapes exalted in their marked sourness halfway up the hill. Then came the Dolcetto grapes and the yellowing Arneis grapes.
