Grande degustazione presso Cantina Marchisio Tonino
Prodotti dolci e salati, nocciole, grissini buonissimi e formaggi strepitosi..
Super consigliato!

About Winery and Wines
At Marchisio Tonino Winery, passion is the essence of its story—a narrative woven from the lives of individuals deeply connected to the Roero region, a place whose remarkable oenological allure has gained international recognition. The legacy of Brjnda, a name synonymous with quality, style, and personality in winemaking, continues to honor the virtues of its founder, Antonio Marchisio.
Antonio Marchisio's story is a captivating one. A young and resilient soldier in the late 19th century, he served in the Prussian campaign and was a distinguished member of the Royal Guard. Despite numerous reports of him being missing, Antonio returned home safely after his time at the front. He greeted his family draped in an exotic overcoat made of foreign fabric, leading his loved ones to affectionately call him "Brjnda." This term, derived from "brindùr" — a reference to a distinctive wine container called "brenta" — became a family nickname that has endured through generations.
During challenging times of rural neglect and countryside abandonment, Luigi Elio, a forward-thinking member of the family, bridged the old and new generations. Today, Tonino and his children, Mattia, Marco, and Martina, are the custodians of a rich heritage, preserving and sharing the values and expertise passed down through the years.
Nestled on the rolling hills around Alba, Castellinaldo is synonymous with excellence and is home to the Marchisio Tonino Winery. Situated in the heart of Roero, directly across from the Tanaro Valley that separates it from the renowned Langhe region, Castellinaldo is a picturesque village immersed in vineyards. The unique morphology of the land, with its alternating loose marls and tuffaceous sediments, creates an ideal environment for cultivating high-quality grapes, which are transformed into fine wines through the wisdom of local farmers.
The village’s prestige is enhanced by its many hills and diverse vineyard facets, solidifying its place among the oenological elite of Piedmont. On a prominent marly hill facing south-southwest, in the northern part of the municipality near Magliano Alfieri, lie the 11 hectares of vineyards meticulously managed by the Marchisio family. Known as Rocca Cerretto, this hill has long been recognized in historical documents as a prime location for producing exceptional wine grapes, making it one of the region’s most esteemed crus.
The vineyard’s varying slopes, bathed in sunlight, and its distinctive soil composition make it ideal for a range of wines. At the hill’s summit, where the sun shines brightly all day, Nebbiolo grapes thrive, contributing to the winery’s flagship red wine. Midway down the hill, Barbera grapes flourish with their distinctive acidity, while Dolcetto and Arneis grapes, known for their golden hues, are cultivated on the lower slopes.
