Il tour della cantina è stato molto istruttivo, la nostra guida era veramente preparata e professionale, senza contare il fatto di averci spiegato tutto in italiano! Anche la varietà di Porto inclusi nella degustazione ci hanno soddisfatti. Un'ottima esperienza che consiglio senza alcun dubbio!
Ps per chi viaggia in macchina come noi, un'altra nota positiva è stata la facilità di parcheggio proprio davanti alla cantina

About Winery and Wines

With over 100 years of existence, Poças is currently in the hands of the 4th generation, being one of the rare Port Wine companies that was born portuguese and has remained in the hands of the same family since its foundation. .

In 2019, Poças received the “Fortified Wine Producer of the Year 2018” award, given by Revista de Vinhos.

Our Visitor Center has been open to the public since 2016, having been fully renovated in 2018 - an innovative project designed by portuguese architects Lúcia Vaz Pato and António Mota. Receiving around 28 000 visitors per year, in 2018 the Visitor Center was awarded the Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor.

Nowadays, Poças has 3 Wine Estates located in 3 different Douro sub-regions: Quinta das Quartas, Quinta de Vale de Cavalos and Quinta de Santa Bárbara. Quinta das Quartas was Poças' first Wine Estate, bought in 1932, and has been classified as UNESCO World Heritage since 2001

Poças produces a wide range of Port Wines, red and white, building their reputation with their very old Tawny Ports and Colheitas. In 1990, the company started producing their DOC Douro Wines going against the beliefs that the Douro Region did not have enough conditions to do it. Nowadays, Poças is one of the most important producers of DOC douro wines in the country.
