Poderi Marcarini
About the Winery
In the heart of Piedmont, in La Morra, among the rolling vineyard-covered hills of the Langhe, stands Poderi Marcarini. For six generations, the Marcarini family has nurtured its vineyards with care and crafted wines that honor the rich winemaking traditions of the region.
The family upholds a long-standing winemaking heritage deeply rooted in the Langhe territory. Every wine is made to reflect authenticity and quality, following the natural rhythms of the land and the artisanal know-how passed down through generations.
The cellars are housed in a historic 18th-century building in the center of La Morra, attached to a medieval tower and surrounded by the vineyards that shape the iconic Langhe landscape.
Within the quiet of the Marcarini cellars, the wines rest, evolve, and slowly mature, developing aromas and flavors that capture the character of the Langhe and the dedication of a family still committed to preserving and enhancing this remarkable heritage.
About the Wines
Our vineyard estates are the winery's center of activity, extending over 25 hectares in the Langhe and Roero. They bear prestigious names such as Brunate and La Serra, both situated in the area of La Morra; Sargentin in Neviglie, particularly adapted to the growing of the Moscato grape; and Muschiavino in the town of Montaldo Roero.
Their position and inclination, the nature and composition of the soil, the exposure to the sun, and the exceptional microclimate are all fundamental requirements to obtain excellent wines.
The different vineyards, all owned by Marcarini, are cared for with particular care and attention. We have adopted a system of pruning aimed at limiting grape production, as well as maintenance composting techniques using organic substances. We practice controlled cover crops between the vine rows, and the vine diseases are treated with products strictly based on traditional methods. We cultivate exclusively native grape varieties that are well-suited to the land: Nebbiolo. Dolcetto, Barbera, Arneis e Moscato Bianco.
