Quinta da Marcela
(Winery in Douro Valley)
About Winery and Wines
Duas Árvores was founded in 2012 by two lifelong friends, José and Luiz, as a tribute to their Portuguese roots. Located in the heart of the Douro Valley at Quinta da Marcela, a UNESCO World Heritage site, the estate spans 16 hectares of vineyards. The name "Duas Árvores" (Two Trees) honors their family surnames, inspired by the chestnut and olive trees typical of the region. The estate combines tradition and passion, producing wines that reflect the unique terroir and diverse microclimates of the Douro.
Duas Árvores cultivates traditional Douro grape varieties such as Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, and Tinta Roriz. The varied vineyard exposures and unique microclimates, characterized by hot summers and cool nights, contribute to the elegance and quality of their wines. By focusing on the rich diversity of native grapes, Duas Árvores produces wines with complexity and balance, offering a genuine expression of the Douro Valley's renowned terroir.
