Tenuta Le Fracce

Winery in Oltrepò Pavese

About the Winery

Le Fracce is located in Mairano di Casteggio, in the western part of Oltrepò Pavese, one of Lombardy’s most important wine regions. This territory, positioned between Piedmont, Liguria, and Emilia, is characterized by a diverse landscape of rolling hills, vineyards, forests, and historic castles, reflecting a rich and ancient winemaking heritage.

A new chapter in the winery’s history began in 1999, when winemaker Roberto Gerbino took over its management, bringing a strong focus on innovation and research. In collaboration with the Bussolera-Branca Foundation, owner of the estate, Roberto applied scientific research directly in the vineyard and cellar, experimenting with sustainable practices and advanced viticultural techniques.

Since 2015, Roberto, together with Giorgio Visconti, has led the winery with a renewed vision, combining tradition and experimentation to produce wines that express excellence, precision, and a strong connection to the territory.

About the Wines

Le Fracce’s wines are deeply rooted in the traditions of Oltrepò Pavese while reflecting a modern, research-driven approach to winemaking.

The estate places particular emphasis on Pinot Noir, one of the most important grape varieties in the region, cultivated here since the mid-19th century. This focus has led to the creation of notable labels such as Pinot Nero “Riserva” and “Moro”, which highlight the elegance and complexity achievable in this terroir.

Alongside Pinot Noir, the winery also works with traditional varieties such as Croatina, used for the historic Bonarda wines, as well as Riesling, which thrives in the area’s marl-rich soils. The region is also renowned for Metodo Classico sparkling wines, further enriching the diversity of the production.

Through a balance of scientific innovation and respect for tradition, Le Fracce produces wines that are expressive, precise, and strongly linked to the identity of Oltrepò Pavese.
