Tenuta Luisa

Tenuta Luisa is a historic family-run winery whose roots date back to 1907, when Francesco Luisa began cultivating a small five-hectare plot of land. Over five generations, the estate has evolved through dedication, passion, and continuous development, particularly under Eddi Luisa, who transformed the winery into its modern identity. Today, the estate is led by Davide and Michele—an agronomist and an oenologist—who combine technical expertise with deep family knowledge to produce high-quality wines.

The winery, developed from the late 1980s, is equipped with modern facilities including stainless steel tanks and barriques, while the “caveau” represents the heart of the estate, where the finest vintages age. This blend of tradition and innovation defines Tenuta Luisa’s philosophy, rooted in respect for its Friulian heritage and a constant pursuit of excellence.

Tenuta Luisa’s production is structured into several distinct lines, each expressing a different aspect of the Friuli terroir. The white wines are elegant and refined, often characterized by floral aromas, freshness, and notable ageing potential. Alongside international varieties, the estate places strong emphasis on native grapes such as Friulano, Ribolla Gialla, and Verduzzo.

The red wines are structured and expressive, reflecting traditional winemaking techniques passed down through generations, with depth, personality, and richness. A key focus is also placed on indigenous varieties, offering authentic expressions of the region.

The portfolio is further enriched by the “Millesimati” sparkling wines, produced only in selected vintages, known for their elegance and fine perlage, and by the prestigious “I Ferretti” line—small-production wines made from carefully selected grapes, aged in tonneaux and further refined in bottle. These wines stand out for their structure, complexity, and exclusivity, requiring time to fully reveal their character.
