Tornatore Wine

Winery in Etna

About the Winery

The Tornatore family has been cultivating grapes and producing wine since 1865 on the northern slopes of Mount Etna. With deep roots in Castiglione di Sicilia, the family has maintained a strong connection to the land for generations. The winery sits at a unique location on Europe's highest active volcano, where the volcanic soil and distinct microclimate create ideal conditions for winemaking. The history of the Tornatore family is intertwined with the territory, making their estate a blend of tradition and innovation.

About the Wines

Tornatore Winery is renowned for producing high-quality wines that express the unique terroir of Mount Etna’s northern slope. The volcanic soil, rich in nutrients, combined with the altitude and the cool climate, results in wines with intense minerality, bright acidity, and remarkable depth. Their portfolio features native grape varieties such as Nerello Mascalese and Carricante, which are skillfully crafted into wines that showcase the elegance and complexity of Etna's vineyards. Each bottle is a tribute to the land and its winemaking traditions.

Wonderful experience
Beautiful location on the slopes of Etna, an area rich with vineyards. The wines we tasted were excellent, along with some local products like cheeses and cured meats. The girl who accompanied us on the tour of the cellars was very good and knowledgeable. It was truly a beautiful experience.
If you are wine lovers and you are in the area, stop at Cantine Tornatore.

Great wines!
We had a great experience at Tornatore. The explanation were interesting, the food pairing was very good (there was a lot of food) and the wine are excellent! However, we were not given a tour of the vineyard. Maybe because there was construction going on. But that’s okay, we were there for the wine!
