Vicara

Vicara is a winery located on the hills of Rosignano Monferrato in Piedmont, established in 1992 from the union of three families: Ravizza, Cassinis, and Visconti. The Ravizza family, active in the sector since 1904, managed the enological part, while the Cassinis family handled communication and international relations. The Visconti family, with a long agricultural history, coordinated the project, focusing on enhancing local wine varieties such as Barbera, Grignolino, and Freisa.

Since 2022, the Visconti family has been independently leading Vicara, with Giuseppe and Emanuele Visconti at the helm. The winery, covering 70 hectares of which 33 are vineyards, is committed to organic production and environmental conservation. The Visconti family has a long agricultural tradition dating back to the 15th century and has distinguished itself through environmental reclamation projects, such as the one in the Po floodplain.

The current goal is to consolidate the image of Monferrato wines as high-quality products, with a particular focus on Grignolino. Vicara relies on a specialized team of enologists and agronomists and the consultancy of SATA, investing in personnel training to ensure optimal vineyard and production management.

At Vicara, we craft wines that embody the soul of the Monferrato region, using native grape varieties that have been passed down through generations. With organic farming practices, each phase of the production process is meticulously controlled to create wines that are a true expression of our land.

We produce eight distinct labels, each with its own character:

.G, Grignolino del Monferrato Casalese DOC: A delicate and expressive Grignolino, showcasing the true essence of this native varietal.

Uccelletta Monferace, Grignolino del Monferrato Casalese DOC: A bold and elegant interpretation of Grignolino, aged to perfection.

Cascina Rocca 33 Barbera del Monferrato DOC: A rich Barbera with intense flavors and balanced acidity, representing the best of Monferrato’s tradition.

Cantico Della Crosia, Barbera del Monferrato Superiore DOCG: A superior Barbera, aged to enhance its complexity and structure, perfect for those who seek depth in their wines.

Volpuva, Barbera del Monferrato DOC: A vibrant Barbera with a full body and a smooth finish, ideal for any occasion.

Fleisa, Monferrato Freisa DOC: A bold and lively Freisa, offering a unique blend of fruit and spice.

Domino, Spumante Brut Rosé (Martinotti Method): A sparkling rosé with a refined elegance, perfect for celebrations and special moments.

Airales, Monferrato Bianco DOC: A fresh and aromatic white wine, capturing the bright, mineral characteristics of the Monferrato region.

Each bottle from Vicara is a testament to our respect for tradition, our commitment to research, and the people behind every step of the process. We produce approximately 70,000 bottles per year, each crafted to showcase the best of Monferrato's winemaking heritage.
