Cantine Giacomo Montresor
About the Winery
Giacomo Montresor: A Legacy of Excellence in the Heart of Verona
Officially founded in 1892 , the Giacomo Montresor winery is a cornerstone of Veronese winemaking and the custodian of a family tradition that dates back to the 17th century. Strategically located at the gateway to Valpolicella , the company is today a global symbol of dedication to winemaking, combining respect for the past with a cutting-edge production vision.
The Art of Tradition and the Satin Icon
The winery's history is marked by pioneering intuitions that have redefined the aesthetics of Italian wine worldwide. One example is the iconic 1921 Satinata bottle : designed to protect the quality of the product during long ocean crossings, its frosted surface and shape reminiscent of the ancient flask have made it a symbol of timeless elegance and prestige. This attention to detail is reflected in every stage of production, from the vineyard to the bottle, preserving an identity that has made Montresor a protagonist at the most important international exhibitions since 1873.
About the Wines
In 1892 Giacomo Montresor founded the Giacomo Montresor Cellars, giving life to a production that, since then and until today, is an identity expression of its origins: an identity and a style unlike any other. Cantine Giacomo Montresor collects its grapes from 40 hectares of vineyards, the heart of the company which has always been worked with dedication and respect. From the lands that host the native Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Molinara vineyards, the unique character of a natural amphitheater territory that favors the production of wines of great depth and rigor is expressed.

Beautiful, good, a must-do.
A very nice tour of the cellar and museum, maybe a bit rushed, but truly complete and with a part related to flavors/aromas and soils that was very interesting (in our opinion it deserved a bit more in-depth time).
The tasting was truly excellent, complete (the oil was also much appreciated) and with a generous charcuterie board. Obviously, taste is extremely personal, but we really appreciated the wines we tasted.
The tour could be more detailed in the museum part and where they talk about the territory.
During the tasting it would be nice to have a price list on hand with discounts reserved for the cellar, not only for the wines being tasted but also for the other wines from the winery (of which there are very many). We purchased bottles from the tasting but also 2 bottles of sparkling wine that were not part of the tasting but we knew we would appreciate (and indeed they were much appreciated).
Super tour and tasting
It's nice to learn
Maybe the theory part on winemaking, the cellar, and the company's history could be improved.

We will return.
Wonderful experience!
A pleasant experience while waiting for Nabucco
Dinners in the cellar as well as wine tastings
Top experience
Alessandro guided us and he was truly great and thorough.
Thank you
Disappointed
The tour was interesting enough, too bad that at the end, before getting the wine, there was another endless wait because they had created some confusion with the other Valentine's Day tastings.
As for the platters, we had to ask twice before getting them because they had gotten confused with those too, and we received them without bread because they had run out…
A shame…
