"Cru" Escape: Wine Holiday on Vesuvius with 2 Wineries and 9 Volcanic Wines

Your wine holiday begins at Vesuvio Inn, located within the Sorrentino Vini estate in Boscotrecase. You will spend one night here, surrounded by vineyards on the slopes of the Vesuvius National Park. The package focuses on the volcanic identity of this territory, with two distinct winery visits included.

Your first stop is at Sorrentino Vini, where a member of the hospitality team will guide you through the estate’s organic production. The tasting, held in the winery's tasting room, features four wines. It opens with Dòrè, a sparkling white made from 100% Caprettone grapes using the long Charmat method. You will then taste Vigna Lapillo Bianco Lacryma Christi del Vesuvio DOC Superiore, followed by the Vigna Lapillo Rosso Lacryma Christi del Vesuvio DOC Superiore. The selection concludes with Don Paolo Pompeiano IGT, a more structured red. The tasting is paired with a country-style menu including salame, capocollo, grilled vegetables, homemade casatiello, Provolone DOP, pasta with Pomodorino del Piennolo del Vesuvio DOP, and a homemade dessert. You will also taste the estate's Donna Angela extra virgin olive oil.

The package also include Bosco de’ Medici in Pompeii. The visit begins in the vineyards and historic cellar, followed by a sommelier-led tasting of five wines in the tasting room. The selection may vary, but typically includes wines such as Lacryma Christi Rosso DOC, Lacryma Christi Bianco DOC, and a sparkling Falanghina. This tasting is accompanied by the Vesuvio Menu, which features local Culatello, Neapolitan salami, buffalo mozzarella, and bronze-drawn Gragnano paccheri, finishing with a Neapolitan Babà and homemade Limoncello.
