Panoramic Tasting of Gold Collection Wines with Cheeses at Castrum in Valpolicella

Your tasting takes place in Castelrotto, the medieval village considered the “Zero Kilometer” point of the Valpolicella Classica wine region. You will be welcomed at Casa dei Fraccaroli, one of the village's oldest residences, dating to 1790 and preserved by the Borghetti family for generations. The property stands next to the ancient Castrum Rotari, a 7th-century military fortress that gives the area its name.

On the estate's panoramic terrace, you'll enjoy a relaxed aperitif with views stretching over the Valpolicella vineyards to the city of Verona. The experience includes a tasting of three refreshing summer wines from the Borghetti Giampiero Gold Collection, with a brief introduction from the staff. You will sample a Pinot Grigio DOC, a Lugana DOC, and the Riflessi IGT Verona Rosso Fresco, a red wine.

The wines are paired with a platter of local Lessinia cheeses, such as Monte Veronese, selected to complement their character. For a richer pairing, you can upgrade to a gourmet platter that includes loin and double fesa aged in Amarone, cherry-aged cheese, and 36-month-aged Monte Veronese with artisanal mostardas.
