"Essence" private half day tour of Franciacorta from Bergamo area

Your private half-day tour begins in the Bergamo area and heads to Franciacorta, designed as a clear introduction to this sparkling wine territory. The experience focuses on the Metodo Classico, the role of dosage, and the different styles that define the region.

Your first stop is Le Marchesine in Passirano, a family-run winery. The hospitality manager will guide you through the production areas and aging cellars before the tasting begins in the estate's tasting room. You will start with Nitens Franciacorta Brut, a sparkling white from Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco, and Pinot Nero, followed by Audens Franciacorta Dosaggio Zero. Tasting these two side-by-side offers a direct way to understand how dosage changes the balance of a Franciacorta. The wines are served with grissini.

The tour continues to Ricci Curbastro in Capriolo, where the visit includes both the winery and the Ricci Curbastro Agricultural Museum. The tasting here features three more Franciacorta DOCG wines, held in the tasting room. You will sample a Franciacorta Brut, a Satèn DOCG Millesimato with its characteristic softer bubbles, and an Extra Brut DOCG Millesimato, which is aged longer on its lees for a drier, more structured profile. These are also accompanied by grissini.

Across the two estates, you will taste five Franciacorta wines in total. The progression from Brut and Dosaggio Zero to Satèn and Millesimato Extra Brut provides a practical understanding of how dosage, grape composition, and aging shape the expressions of this territory.
