Your evening tasting takes place in Castelrotto, at the entrance to the Valpolicella Classica area, where the hospitality team of Castrum Wine Relais will welcome you. The experience is set within Casa Fraccaroli, a historic residence from 1790 that is also home to the boutique Borghetti Giampiero Winery.

You can choose from several tasting flights, from an introduction with two wines to a more extensive journey with four. Depending on the weather, the tasting will be held under the panoramic outdoor pergola or in the indoor tasting room. You will sample classic Valpolicella wines, such as Valpolicella Classico Superiore Ripasso and Amarone della Valpolicella Classico, paired with a selection of local cheeses like Monte Veronese. 

The experience connects wine with local history and art. The labels of the Castrum line are dedicated to the works of sculptor Innocenzo Fraccaroli, who was born in Casa Fraccaroli in 1805, giving you a chance to discover the story behind the wines you are tasting.

Wine tasting
The place is beautiful, especially the interior and the terrace. Kind and knowledgeable staff. We had a great time. The only note is that during a tasting, chips, peanuts, etc. are not the most suitable pairing. Fortunately, a platter then arrived paired with the tasting that held its own against the wines.

Excellent service, location and food, not to mention the two wines we tasted.
After the tasting we stayed and with a good bottle of wine we also tasted a very delicious pinsa.

Excellent wine tasting experience
We had a wonderful wine tasting experience.
Both the service and the wines were excellent.
We were a group of four and felt very welcome from the beginning.
The staff was friendly, professional and attentive, and they explained everything clearly.
The atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable, and we were also kindly offered an amaro at the end, which was a lovely touch.
Overall, a great experience that we truly recommend.
