Search for a beautiful wine tasted at home....brought us to Puglia and the delightful Vetrère vineyard.

We had ordered ‘Cre’ white wine from our dealer in the UK...a beautiful, deep, buttery wine. By being on holiday at Alberobello in a trulli we were too close not to pay a visit....it was a delightful experience overseen by co owner Anna.Maria. We ended up ordering 4 cases, following a real experience of a tasting (mostly to my wife’s benefit!). We sampled the ‘Barone Pazzo’ red, a lovely deep and full bodied wine and the ‘VT’ white (similar to Cre) together with the ‘Taranta’ rosé. Having convinced Anna that it was much cheaper to buy directly from the vineyard...including carriage! She was more than happy to arrange the order. The location and surrounds are stunning and reminded us of champagne in March. The tasting was €20 and that included taking the three bottles away with us to consume later.
The Cre and VT are probably the nicest whites we have ever tasted...but you make your mind up.

Una azienda agricola, oggi più che mai, è presidio e ambasciatrice del territorio. La sua filosofia si inscrive in un ecosistema più ampio fatto di ambiente, qualità, cultura. Vetrère ha scelto la strada dell’energia pulita ed è in grado di soddisfare il suo fabbisogno energetico in completa autonomia. L’energia elettrica è prodotta dai pannelli solari che ricoprono la cantina e gli uffici, e dalla generosità del sole della Puglia. Una caldaia a biomasse genera il calore che serve alla tenuta: i vinaccioli vengono fatti essiccare naturalmente d’estate per essere il combustibile naturale d’inverno.
