At Palazzo Montanari, you'll be handed a wooden picnic basket equipped with everything you need for a relaxing afternoon in the estate's vineyards. Inside, you'll find blankets, cushions, and utensils, setting the stage for your meal with a view over Valpolicella.
The centerpiece of your picnic is a bottle of Palazzo Montanari Valpolicella Classico, shared between two people. This is paired with a platter of local products: three types of cured meats, such as Venetian soppressa with local garlic, speck from the Lessini Mountains, and coppa cured with Amarone; and three local cheeses, including fresh and medium-aged Monte Veronese and Grana Padano.
The selection, which may vary with availability, is served with fresh bread, taralli, or grissini. You will also find homemade jams prepared by Susanna, the owner, with flavors like cherry or pear. In summer, the basket might include fresh tomatoes from the garden to prepare your own bruschetta. For a sweet finish, there is a traditional sbrisolona cake or other dry pastries. A vegetarian option is also available, replacing meats with grilled vegetables and a wider selection of cheeses.
