I'm not a wine connoisseur but I appreciated the thought anyway. The staff was very kind and knowledgeable, the tour was perhaps a little short, the wines were very good and so was the platter of local products, especially the cheeses and the jam with honey. I also recommend it as a stop before or after a walk by the lake.

Extraordinary.
The visit was extraordinary. The whole family received us; my wife and I were the only people on the visit.
The winery is a true family winery, excellent treatment and, as you would expect, the products they make, white Godello and red Mencía wines, are of the same quality as those who make them. You can tell the care and work that goes into all their wines.
Special mention to the owner's wife, who treated us to an authentic potato tortilla, with eggs from her own chickens, which was the perfect accompaniment for the tasting.
Without a doubt, the most personal visit I have had to a winery.
I recommend it to everyone who passes through El Bierzo.

A wonderful experience
Both the tour of the vineyard and the Apicella winery were very beautiful.
The walk through the vineyard was very characteristic and evocative.
The tasting afterwards was very pleasant and full of typical products (besides the wines, of course).
We liked the wines (which we had never tried before) so much that we bought practically everything we tasted.

Like visiting family
What an incredible experience from start to finish. We arrived later than planned, and the owner couldn’t have been more gracious and accommodating. Instead of making us feel rushed or inconvenienced, he welcomed us warmly and immediately made us feel at home.
The food was absolutely delicious—much of it prepared by the owner himself or sourced from local friends and producers. Everything felt authentic, fresh, and thoughtfully chosen, giving us a true taste of the region.
The wines were outstanding. Every tasting showcased the care and passion that goes into the winemaking, and we were pleasantly surprised by how affordable everything was. The quality far exceeded the price, making it one of the best value wine experiences we’ve had.
What truly made the visit unforgettable, however, was the owner himself. He was warm, funny, engaging, and genuinely passionate about sharing his wines and his story. By the end of the visit, it felt less like a winery tour and more like spending an afternoon with family. We left with wonderful memories, great wine, and the feeling that we had made a new friend.
This was much more than a wine tasting—it was a heartfelt, authentic experience that we will be talking about for a long time. Highly recommended.
