One of our favotite in Nemea
As part of our wine tour in Nemea we booked a visit to Barafakas winery through winedering.com. It turned to be one of the best wineries we have visited. We had an excellent host and we met briefly with the owner Mr. Christos Barafakas, who comes from a family with a long wine-making tradition. He established the current winery about 20 years ago and it is now one of the middle-sized wine makers in Nemea. They have an impressive variety of labels, thus a comprehensive degustation is recommended. From the whites we liked the Malagousia and the very good Chardonnay, which were followed by syrprisingly good roses (the Three Witches!!). And, of course, great Agiorgitiko reds. The tasting was a real pleasure and we had a very informative doiscussion (part of our small group were winemakers themselves). Thus, altogether it was a wonderful experince which we recommend to anuyne who tours the region.

Wonderful experience!
As soon as we arrived, we were welcomed with incredible kindness: the manager is super helpful and told us with great passion all about the work behind life in the winery. He was able to make us understand in a simple and engaging way what it really means to be a winemaker, and this made the visit even more interesting.
The wines we tasted were excellent and very representative of the territory. The tasting of cured meats and cheeses (with a truly delicious focaccia) was also super enjoyable.
I recommend this same experience to anyone: authentic, pleasant, and run by people who love what they do.

Exceptional - welcoming
Upon arrival we received an interesting and detailed introduction to their vineyards with anecdotes and historical tales about the territory.
All of this was guided by our questions, so if you want to get straight to the wine tasting, that's welcome too.
The tasting location is characteristic and welcoming.
We chose the version with the accompaniment of local products and we were impressed by it: spot-on pairings between local cured meats and cheeses.
The wines are decidedly interesting and from the lightest to the most intense, there is certainly something to be amazed by.
We particularly appreciated the company, the descriptions, and all the narrated details that enriched the wine.
