Great wine tasting in a family atmosphere!
Nice wine tasting with a small tour of the farm and the adjacent vines.
It is a very small family business that only grows and produces grapes for Lugana wine. There are only three vintages so far (2022-2024). The harvest for the 2025 wine was just being brought in during our visit. Before, all the grapes were sold, now, with the two children taking over the farm, they are also producing wine themselves. For the tasting, there was a great antipasti platter with sausage, cheese, bread, olives, etc. All three vintages were presented, but only the 2024 batch is still available, the other two are already completely sold out. However, you can see and taste what potential the wines have. The 2022 vintage has now been in the bottle for two years and is only now really developing its flavor! So we bought the 2024 vintage and will let it age for another 2 years...(if that works out, that's the plan!).

Excellent experience, I recommend it to everyone. Giovanni accompanied me through the vineyards and told me the story of their families as well as their wine.
The vines are centuries-old, something truly rare to see.

The wine tasting was a small intimate experience with one of the brothers, Rafael. he reached out to us the day before our original tour & asked to reschedule to Saturday. Having only limited time in the Douro valley, we changed our schedule & other tours to accommodate him so that we would not lose out on the experience. Since we changed it to Saturday night, I felt like he really did not want to be there. It was clear he did not have any other tours scheduled. It was only us. I felt like we were rushed and he just wasn’t into it. It was very matter of fact. We travel to different wine countries every year, Spain, Greece, Italy, always shipping 12+ wines back. I was interested in purchasing wines and going over more wines, but he was not. Sadly we did not make a purchase. Instead, we visited another vineyard on our way out the following day. Had a great experience and made our purchase there..

It was a great experience, a super family-run winery with a beautiful history and tradition. The place is wonderful and the girl who gave us the tour was charming. They have some nice touches for the visitor that are appreciated and everything was super pleasant.
As for the wines, we loved them, both the white which surprised us, and the gran reserva which is spectacular.
Without a doubt, it's an experience that is worth it and at a really good price.
