Wine Tasting with Light Lunch at Veronese Beatrice in Valpolicella

At the Veronese Beatrice estate in Lavagno, about 20 minutes from Verona, you'll be welcomed by the three sisters who run the winery.

Their passion for winemaking is matched only by their mother Beatrice's love of textiles, which inspired them to name every wine after a different fabric. Your visit begins with a welcome glass of wine, followed by a tour of the production and aging cellars where the sisters will explain the grape varieties behind their collection.

The tasting then takes place either in the dedicated tasting room or outside on the patio.

You will taste seven wines, guided by the owners, starting with the lightest sparkling and finishing with a sweet red:

- Tulle - Prosecco DOC: A crisp, floral sparkling Glera.
- Seta - Pinot Grigio delle Venezie DOC: A silky, fresh still white.
- Taffetà - Soave DOC: A fuller-bodied white from Garganega grapes.
- Damasco - Valpolicella DOC: A young, elegant red blend of Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella.
- Dogaressa - Valpolicella Ripasso DOC Superiore: A richer red, re-fermented using the 'ripasso' method.
- Lampasso - Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG: The estate's flagship, made from grapes dried for 100 days ('appassimento').
- Chiacchierino - Recioto della Valpolicella DOCG: A sweet dessert red, also from dried grapes.

To accompany the wines, a board is served with burrata and cherry tomatoes, local cold cuts and cheeses, smoked ricotta with honey and hazelnuts, 40-month-aged Parmigiano Reggiano, and a dessert of dark chocolate with sbrisolona or a shortcrust tart.
