Grand Tour & Wine Tasting at Castello di Coiano in Castelfiorentino, Chianti

Your experience at Castello di Coiano begins with a personal welcome from Tommaso, the estate's owner, who will guide you through the property himself.

The tour starts in the 19th-century manor house, once home to Countess Carolina Antonia Schneiderff, before descending 19 meters underground into the historic cellars. You will then visit the traditional vinsantaia, where Vinsanto is aged, and see the old olive press with its original stone mills. The visit continues outdoors in the Italian garden, among the scents of the lemon house, and on the panoramic terrace overlooking the surrounding landscape.

The tour concludes with a guided tasting. In warm weather, it's held on the panoramic terrace or in the garden; during cooler months, you'll be in the comfortable, air-conditioned tasting room. You will taste five Castello di Coiano wines: a fresh 100% Trebbiano, a savory and aromatic 100% Vermentino, the Chianti "Ser Riccomanno" DOCG, the "Il Peccato" IGT Rosso, and the traditional Vinsanto del Chianti DOC.

The tasting is paired with a platter of Tuscan prosciutto, salami, and mortadella, fresh and aged local pecorino, bruschetta with the castle's own extra virgin olive oil, and fresh schiacciata. The Vinsanto is served with artisanal cantuccini biscuits. For children, a non-alcoholic drink and a snack are provided.
