Panoramic Tasting with Local Foods at Borghetti Giampiero in Valpolicella Classica
Here is what's in store for you
Your experience begins in the medieval village of Castelrotto, on a hill overlooking the Valpolicella Classica region. You'll be welcomed to Casa Fraccaroli, a historic residence that has been in the Borghetti family since 1790, located within the Castrum Wine Relais and set beside the ancient Castrum Rotari, a 7th-century military stronghold.
A member of the Castrum Wine Relais hospitality team will guide you through the history of the Borghetti family and their connection to the territory. The visit continues into the boutique winery and barrel cellar before the tasting begins.
Depending on the season, you will take a seat either under the panoramic pergola or in the indoor tasting room. You will then taste five classic wines from the Borghetti Giampiero estate:
- Valpolicella Classico DOC
- Valpolicella Classico Superiore DOC
- Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore DOC
- Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG
- Amarone Riserva della Valpolicella DOCG
The tasting is paired with a platter of local products, including Monte Veronese cheese and traditional sbrisolona cake. This is an experience where the history of Valpolicella, from its ancient fortifications to its winemaking traditions, is present in every glass.

Price-quality - a miss
A bit of speck and prosciutto, a few cheeses. Very small for 2 people.
They show a marketing video with no added value.
As for the wine, it's a matter of taste.
Excellent visit
Great Wine Tasting
We had booked the tour in German, which unfortunately didn't work out on site; the lady spoke English with us.
Nevertheless, we were able to learn a lot about the winery and about the wine production on the estate.
The wines were described to us in detail and harmonized very well with the food offered.
The view from the terrace over the vineyards and the valleys is fantastic.
We would have been happy if we had also been guided through the wine-growing area; unfortunately, this was not right on the doorstep but a few kilometers away.
5 stars!
The professionalism and friendliness of the very kind Anna, who explained everything to us very well, added the fifth star!
