Valpolicella in All Its Glory: Tour & Wine Tasting at Corte Archi in Marano
Here is what's in store for you
Your visit to Corte Archi begins with a welcome from the family – either Fernando and Silvia, the owners, or their son, Carlo Alberto. They will guide you first into the historic cellar to explain their production methods and how the wines mature in wooden barrels. Next, you'll visit the 'fruttaio', the traditional room where grapes for Amarone and Recioto are left to dry naturally.
From there, the tour moves into the vineyard for a short guided walk. Here you will learn about the estate's vine-training systems and their approach to agriculture, with views over the Valpolicella landscape.
The experience concludes with a guided tasting, held on the estate's portico in good weather or in the indoor tasting room. You will taste a selection of six red wines that showcase the region's traditional grapes, like Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, and Oseleta. The lineup includes:
• Valpolicella Classico DOC “Gli Archi”
• Valpolicella Classico Superiore DOC “Crualto”
• Valpolicella Classico Superiore Ripasso DOC “Gli Archi”
• Rosso Verona IGT “Oseletica”
• Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG “Gli Archi”
• Amarone della Valpolicella Classico IS
The wines are accompanied by breadsticks and taralli. A gourmet option is also available, which adds a platter of local cured meats and cheeses like Monte Veronese and salami.
