Organic Wine Tasting & Vineyard Picnic at La Dama Vini in Valpolicella
Here is what's in store for you
La Dama Vini is an organic estate in Negrar, less than 15 km from Verona and a 40 minute drive from Lake Garda. Your visit, led by a sommelier or WSET-qualified host, begins with a walk through the vineyards to learn about Valpolicella's winemaking traditions and the principles of organic viticulture.
The tour continues inside the winery, moving through the vinification areas to the barrel cellar where the wines are aged. Afterwards, you'll take a seat in the tasting room for a guided tasting of five of the estate's organic red wines, paired with a board of local products. The tasting covers the entire Valpolicella range:
- Valpolicella Classico DOC Biologico (60% Corvina, 25% Rondinella, 10% Corvinone, 5% Molinara): a light, fresh red with cherry notes.
- Valpolicella Classico DOC Superiore Biologico (95% Corvina, 5% Rondinella): with more structure and aging potential.
- Valpolicella Ripasso Classico DOC Superiore Biologico (50% Corvina, 25% Rondinella, 20% Corvinone, 5% Molinara): refermented on Amarone skins for a fuller, warmer profile.
- Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG Biologico (73% Corvina, 17% Rondinella, 10% Corvinone): a powerful, dry red made from dried grapes.
- Recioto della Valpolicella Classico DOCG Biologico (85% Corvina, 10% Rondinella, 5% Molinara): the traditional sweet wine, also from dried grapes.
The wines are served with cured meats like Sopressa Veneta and Coppa aged in Amarone, two ages of Monte Veronese cheese, Fenarolo cheese, and a jelly made from the estate's Amarone. The Recioto is paired with Torta Sbrisolona and dark chocolate.
After the tasting, you'll head out into the vineyard to enjoy your picnic lunch. The basket includes stuffed focaccia, baked lasagna with ragù, a seasonal side dish, and a chocolate cake, served with a glass of Valpolicella Classico.

Relax
The tour of the vineyards and the cellar left us speechless and our guide was truly, truly knowledgeable and impeccably sweet. She loves her job and conveys it to all the guests, making the visit even more pleasant. We chose the five-glass tour with local cured meats and cheeses to accompany each glass and there, well, nothing to add except absolute goodness.
Afterward, we had a picnic on the lawn with another glass to accompany it and there too, we were truly speechless. You have the chance to sit wherever you like and enjoy the tranquility and the green of those vineyards with a first course, second course, and dessert, and then take a well-deserved nap.
To finish, we bought some wine to take home from their shop and had a coffee, taking a beautiful experience with us. I recommend it to everyone because you will be happy you went.
I personally liked the Recioto paired with the homemade sbrisolona. My boyfriend was blown away by the Amarone, a spectacle for the taste buds.
