How do you choose between the Casas do Côro stays?

By the activity. The eight versions add, for example, a spa circuit and a massage, a train ride along the Douro Superior from Pocinho, a visit to the rock art of the Côa Valley and its museum, lunch at Quinta da Ervamoira, a cooking workshop or a picnic with e-bikes. The Côa Valley rock art and the Alto Douro wine region are both UNESCO World Heritage sites.

Can you visit the Douro without a car?

Yes, with the two-day escape from Porto: it starts at São Bento station and includes the train, the boat, the drives on the second day and the return to Porto. For the other stays you need a car.

When is the best time to go?

Spring and autumn. The Douro harvest is in September, and in October and November the terraced vineyards turn yellow and red. Summers in the Douro and the Alentejo are very hot.
