The Poderi Moretti of Francesco Moretti is the natural transformation of a family company, the result of the union of families Occhetti and Moretti, already present in the Roero since 1630 as it comes out from the ancient registers of landed property in Monteu Roero. The Moretti Winery has a cellar and vineyards in Monteu Roero and various plots in the neighboring villages of Montaldo Roero, Santo Stefano Roero, Vezza d'Alba, and Govone. At present, it has a total extension of 38 hectares of which 19 are dedicated to vineyards. The Poderi Moretti’s firm only uses the grapes grown in its vineyard. The wine quality is initially obtained in the vineyard, the treatment experienced is therefore as natural as possible: a special system of pruning aimed at privileging quality rather than quantity, use of supplementary technical (agronomic means, hygienic techniques, monitoring of atmospheric phenomena) and reduced number of treatments, carefully chosen, in fighting any fungous attacks and of animal parasites, care in the grape-harvesting. Skillful working allows gaining the important purpose of the product quality and genuineness in the respect of tradition and, at the same time, following up the most advanced enological techniques.

A family with deep roots in the Roero. Twenty hectares of land with diversified cultivation in the municipality of Monteu Roero. A company born through the determination and the passion of the “BAJAJ”, a family with humble origins, that trusted in its potentialities. The manager of the cellar is ADRIANO MORETTI, a young winemaker who loves to experiment different kinds of aging: barriques, bottles positioned in a underground sand cave with constant condition and terracotta amphorae. The production philosophy is to exalt the fruity feelings, the freshness and the elegance of Roero vines. At the moment, the bottles production, is about 15.000 bottles from 4 hectares of vineyards, but we are growing fast and we have programmed to grow 3 more hectares in the next 10 years. Curiosity: almost all the bottles are sold into the winery to witness the great importance given to the welcome of visitors.

We are a family-run company, which for four generations has been committed to obtaining high quality wines, respecting the environment. Since 2023 we have been certified SQNPI (sustainable production) by the Italian Ministry of Agricultural and Forestry Policies. In our vineyards we do not use herbicides and the grapes are harvested strictly by hand in boxes, to preserve every single bunch until pressing. We own 13 hectares of vineyards that we work almost entirely by hand and from which we produce typical wines of our territory, the Roero.
