Christos Barafakas, driven by a lifelong dream, began his vinification journey in 2002, meticulously cultivating the family's 80 stremma estate in Nemea—one of Greece's most renowned PDO wine regions. Known for its unique microclimate, Nemea is the birthplace of the celebrated Agiorgitiko grape, which thrives in the area's exceptional terroir. This great urge of psalm was following for years the family, from grandfather to grandson was growing traditionally their vineyards, in the ancient full of vineyards land of Nemea. Till the youngest generation, decided in 2005 to give a new, modern form of the old dream. This is how DOMAINE BAIRAKTARIS was created. A family business, which is based on its privet vineyards, well rooted on the valley of Nemea, where the fascinating ecosystem and the local climate, in combination with clayish fertile soil, give us the well known wines of Nemea. In domaine Bairaktaris the varieties are growing in low quantity productivity per 10800 square meters. The varieties are : Agiorgitiko, Cabernet, Merlot, Syrah, Roditis, Savatiano, Moschofilero. In 2008, at the entrance of Nemea, under the shadow of temple of Nemean Zeus, has opened its doors the Domaine Bairaktaris. The beautiful building, is hiding in it a modern technological equip, combined with the experience and the love for this job of the people of our winery uses all the modern methods on wine making, so every variety so that it gets its best characteristics.

Gaia Wines carries the symbol of the ammonite, a fossil from the Aegean Sea that whispers the ancient secrets of the Greek land. Founded in 1994 by Yiannis Paraskevopoulos, an agriculturist and PhD in Enology from the University of Bordeaux III, and Leon Karatsalos, also an agriculturist, Gaia Wines embodies the Greek spirit of exploration, knowledge, and craftsmanship. This philosophy is reflected in their wines, made to provide wine lovers around the world with the finest expressions of Greek terroir. In Nemea, a semi-mountainous region with stony soils at an altitude of 850 meters, the Agiorgitiko grape thrives. This land, with its cool summers and wet winters, produces red wines known for their aging potential. In Santorini, the volcanic soil, high summer temperatures, and strong sea winds create the perfect environment for the ancient Assyrtiko grape variety, which has been cultivated for over 3,000 years. Assyrtiko is primarily responsible for the production of rare, distinctive white wines that capture the essence of this timeless landscape.
