Annicchiarico Winery is located in Santa Paolina, in the heart of Avellino, one of the eight communes recognized for the production of Greco di Tufo D.O.C.G. The winery was born out of founder Leopold’s deep passion for the land and his desire to share the fruits of its meticulously cared-for vineyards. Our vineyards, nestled in the chalky soils of Castelmozzo, produce Greco grapes that embody the minerality, freshness, and persistence characteristic of this unique terroir. Surrounded by lush acacia, broom, blackberry, plum, sage, and wild mint, our small vineyard plots benefit from an environment that enhances the wine’s aromatic complexity. The result is a refined, elegant wine with a captivating bouquet of fruity and floral notes, including hints of grapefruit and orange blossom. At Annicchiarico, we are committed to producing wines that reflect the purity and beauty of the land, while honoring the traditions and legends of this historic region.

Along the first turns of the road that leads to Passo della Serra, the visitor is captured by the unique beauty of this part of Irpinia land that divides the Valle del Sabato from Valle del Calore; This land, which for thousands of years has been known for the cultivation of the vine; And it is just here, on the Serra di Montemiletto, about 550 meters away, where lies the Tenuta del Meriggio, in which centre is placed the modern winery. The Meriggio Estate was born from the passion for the vineyards and for the excellent wines that is possible to produce in these places; We like to refer the name chosen to the atmosphere that are formed, especially in the aspens and sunny “controre” typical of the summer, when the time on these hills seems suspended, and the air is pervaded by an ancient magic.
