Agriturismo Fattoria Maionchi
About the Winery
Fattoria Maionchi is a family-run winery nestled in the rolling hills of Montecarlo, near Lucca, in the heart of Tuscany. For generations, our family has been dedicated to cultivating vineyards and producing wines that express the character of our land and its traditions. Every visit is personally guided by a member of the family, taking guests through our vineyards, historic cellars, and the story of the estate. Our wine tastings are paired with our own extra virgin olive oil and homemade Tuscan specialties prepared with fresh, local ingredients. More than a simple wine tasting, we offer an authentic experience where visitors can discover the true essence of Tuscan hospitality, sharing our history, our passion, and our wines in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
About the Wines
Maria Pia:
Dedicated to our grandmother, Maria Pia, this elegant white wine is made from Trebbiano and Vermentino grapes. Fresh, mineral and pleasantly crisp, it reveals delicate aromas of white flowers and fresh orchard fruit. Its vibrant acidity and balanced structure make it the perfect companion for seafood, light appetizers and sunny Tuscan afternoons.
Rosato di Selvata:
Our newest wine, Rosato di Selvata, is crafted from Moscato d'Amburgo grapes. Delicate yet expressive, it offers aromas of raspberry, cherry, melon and rose petals. Fresh, fruity and elegant, it is an ideal choice as an aperitif or paired with fish, shellfish and summer dishes.
Rosso delle Colline Lucchesi DOC:
A true expression of the Lucca hills, this classic Tuscan blend combines Sangiovese with traditional local grape varieties. Aged in French oak, it delivers notes of ripe red fruit, subtle spices and floral nuances, finishing with remarkable balance and elegance. A versatile wine that pairs beautifully with traditional Tuscan cuisine.
Arcangelo:
100% Merlot and aged for two years in oak barrels, it is a full-bodied yet refined wine, offering layers of ripe fruit, spice and silky tannins. An excellent match for grilled meats, game and aged cheeses.
Cintello:
Named after the ancient Lucchese word for "glass of wine," Cintello is a 100% Sangiovese aged in oak for at least two years. Rich, bold, and long-lasting, it combines power with finesse, revealing complex aromas and a persistent finish. It is the perfect wine for steaks, roasted meats and mature cheeses.
