Provides 2 wine tastings and winery visit from €50.00
Tenuta San Beda is a small, family-run winery nestled in the picturesque Lucca countryside, near the historic village of Montecarlo. With a deep passion for the land, the estate has gradually restored and replanted vineyards that span approximately 5 hectares, situated at 50 meters above sea level. The winery’s manager, David, oversees every aspect of the winemaking process—from tending the vines to crafting the wine in the cellar. As an oenologist, winemaker, and cellarman, David follows the rhythms of nature with dedication, nurturing the vineyards daily. The Tenuta San Beda farm is located in the historic Corte Meino, within the Cercatoia area of Montecarlo di Lucca. This region, which began hosting peasant settlements in the 18th century, was owned by the Giusti family until the early 1990s. Entrepreneurs Gabriella and Alfiero Fantozzi later acquired the land and entrusted its management to their daughter, Maria Patrizia. Under her initiative, the young estate has been revitalized, bringing new life and vigor to the land. The estate extends across 10 hectares to the southwest of Montecarlo, in a serene valley just two kilometers from the town’s historic center. Visitors are greeted by a harmonious landscape of vineyards, olive groves, orchards, and woodlands, all bordered by a small stream at the valley’s base. While the production of high-quality wine remains the estate’s primary focus—thanks to a blend of peasant tradition and modern winemaking techniques—Tenuta San Beda also takes pride in producing exceptional extra virgin olive oil, all while respecting the surrounding environment.

Azienda Agricola Valle del Sole
(Winery in Hills of Lucca)

Provides 3 wine tastings and winery visit from €30.00
Valle del Sole winery is located in Lucca, in the northwest of Tuscany, and covers an area of 10 hectares cultivated with vineyards and olive groves in a valley where it is still possible to live in harmony with nature. The area is excellent from a morphological point of view, situated between the Tyrrhenian coast and the Apuan Alps, crossed by the Serchio River and the Freddana stream. The climate has a strong variability depending on whether the influence of the mountains or the Mediterranean prevails. Winters are generally mild, and springs are early. The Apuan Alps influence the climate with abundant rainfall, well distributed throughout the year. The Tyrrhenian Sea, on the other hand, provides this area with an excellent amount of light, ensuring good photosynthetic activity throughout the plant’s growing cycle. Additionally, it offers a constant, gentle breeze throughout the year, allowing for significant daily temperature variation. The vineyards extend across different types of soil: in the hilly areas, the prevalent soil is Tuscan conglomerate, made up of clayey sandstones rich in minerals, which results in red wines with good power and longevity. In the plains, the soils are sandy-loamy with abundant gravel, which is the ideal area for producing excellent white wines with great aging potential. Vineyard management follows organic production standards and incorporates biodynamic techniques. All of this helps create a strong bond between man and the land, ensuring soil fertility and product quality. This valley is particularly suited for vine cultivation due to its proximity to the Tyrrhenian Sea, which ensures an excellent vegetative balance for the plants thanks to the amount of light and fresh, constant ventilation, as well as a significant temperature fluctuation between day and night. The quality of the soil, the climate, the position of a beautiful hill nestled between the sea and mountains, and the use of biodynamic farming create a deep connection between man and the vineyard, maintaining fertile land and product quality. Ours is the classic story of a family of farmers from the Lucchesi Hills. Initially sharecroppers, then small landowners cultivating various crops, the family expanded the property in the 1990s with my father Renato, and then came me... Marco, who since 2008 has been the owner of the company, transforming the agricultural life of the Borselli family. Ours is a genuine life choice; we respect our roots, pass down the craft of vine growing, but most importantly, we follow the rhythms of nature. Renato embraced this passion, condensing love for the land and emotions into the bottles. Marco has made curiosity and creativity the driving force of his days, dividing his time between managing the vineyards and the winery, welcoming customers, and sales. Each generation carries the roots of the previous one, the values passed on, the experiences lived, the shared projects, but each person in this family has also been able to look forward, with the ability to dream and the desire to write a chapter in the history of the Valle del Sole farm. The generational transition is a guided, built gesture, never forced, a choice that matures consciously. There will be more blank pages to write in the near future, and perhaps our children will continue the passion we pass down.
