Thanks to Winedering we were able to visit this lovely winery. Booking process was very easy and informative. Special thanks to the great host Sofia who gave us excellent overview of the winery story, winemaking strategies and insights and at the same time made us feel very welcome and relaxed.
We were even able to compare different vintages of the estate most popular wines and received a nice souvenir to remember this visit back at home!
Highly recommend!
Try Ma.Gi.Co. very special wine with great story!

About Winery and Wines

The Tantini estate stretches across the communes of Castelnuovo del Garda and Sona in the province of Verona. It is perched on the terminal moraine overlooking Lake Garda. Family-owned since the early 20th century, it comprises 11.5 hectares of vineyards, a winery built in 2002, and a farmhouse B & B renovated in 2011. In total, there are 19 hectares and the estate’s wines are produced exclusively from its own fruit.

Production of wine is this area pre-dates the Romans. Lake Garda exerts a significant influence on the microclimate with diminished continentality and mild winters, all of which are most favorable for the cultivation of Vitis vinifera. The soils are alluvial (although of glacial origin) with deep gravel deposits over limestone that offer superb drainage. Optimal soil fertility is a primary concern as the supply of organic material must balance the low proportions of silt and clay. The lower Garda zone has long been recognized for the excellence of its wines and four DOCs overlap on the property: Bardolino, Custoza, and Garda.

The Tantini estate cultivates white grapes (Chardonnay, Garganega, Trebbiano, and Trebbianello) using Pergola Veronese and red grapes (Corvina Veronese, Rondinella, Cabernet, and Merlot) with Guyot training. A green harvest and rigorous selection ensure only the finest berries are used. Five DOC wines are produced: Bardolino DOC, Chiaretto di Bardolino DOC, Custoza DOC, "Ma.Gi.Co" Garda Corvina DOC, and "La Rocca" Bardolino DOC. Giovanna Tantini oversees every production stage, focusing on quality and crafting wines that express the estate's terroir and history.
