Campriano

Winery in Montalcino, Crete Senesi

About the Winery

Campriano, besides being a place of rare historical and natural beauty, is a farm of 350 hectares purchased by the Neri family in 1914. The farm, besides having 200 hectares of land covered by oak and holm-oak woods and other typical essences of the Mediterranean maquis, produces cereals and fodder on 120 hectares. The remaining part is occupied by 15 hectares of vineyards and 7.5 hectares of specialized olive groves. Whereas cereals and forages are cultivated in the clayey soils of Pliocene origin of Crete, vineyards and olive groves are located in the part made of stony soils of medium texture, calcareous soils exposed to south, southeast at 350 meters of altitude.

About the Wines

Vineyards planted in the period 1964-1975 have been gradually renewed and integrated by new plantings. In all the vineyards the vines are trained to low spurred cordon and the main varieties are Sangiovese and Canaiolo nero for red grapes which represent 90% of vineyards and Trebbiano Toscano and Malvasia del Chianti for white grapes. Some novelties concern the experimentation of new varieties such as Vermentino, Ciliegiolo and Syrah. Grapes produced in Campriano are harvested in the

Incredible visit
If you want to feel the pulse of an authentic wine maker, and taste excellent wines rooted in tradition, book that place. Incredible scenery in the heart of Tuscany, definitely not the usual tourist stuff.

Excellent tasting
Excellent tasting, it was a pleasure to talk with Mr. Ranuccio who told us the story of his wines and of the place. We couldn't help but buy a few bottles of the wines we tasted.

A Divine Corner of Wine
A beautiful and recommended experience, Ranuccio is a delightful host, attentive and very capable of making you feel at ease, to make you live a unique experience.
We tasted 4 wines of his production, all excellent, accompanied by schiacciata and cheese.
The wine tasting paradoxically takes a backseat to the dream location and the conversation with Ranuccio, which can touch on every aspect of local life from traditions to wine production.
Highly recommended experience!

Excellent
It was an excellent experience. Ranuccio treated us wonderfully, he welcomed us and showed us the whole space, afterwards we tasted his wines, accompanying them with bread and some very good cold cuts. His service was a 10 out of 10.

Wonderful experience!
The owner accompanied us from the beginning to the end of the experience, telling us the story of the farm. Meanwhile, he offered us a wine tasting that went from a white, to a rosé, and two reds.
It was all accompanied by cured meats, cheeses, and stuffed white pizza.
We then moved to where the wine is produced.
The experience was wonderful, the winery is small but being family-run makes everything humble and pleasant.
We only spent €20 per person!

What a place!
Beautiful structure, rich in history.
Ranuccio, the owner, fascinated us with his stories about the history of the estate.
Besides the fact that, due to the road being closed for the Eroica, he also waited for us!
Helpful and courteous

Wonderful experience
The owner is a truly kind, pleasant, and friendly person! He makes you feel at ease and is immediately likable.
You can see the great passion he puts into what he does. Excellent wines and snack, not to mention the scenic and historical setting in which the farm is immersed.
