About Winery and Wines
Located along the stunning Ionian coast of Calabria, in the historic municipalities of Cirò and Cirò Marina, Caparra & Siciliani Winery stands as a testament to the rich viticultural heritage of the region. Nestled among ancient Alberello vineyards, centuries-old olive groves, and millennia-old ruins, the winery is deeply rooted in the history and culture of Calabria. The fertile, sun-drenched hills and plains, along with abundant water sources, have long made this area ideal for cultivating vines. Since the 19th century, the Caparra & Siciliani families have carried forward this proud tradition of winemaking. In 1963, they joined forces to create Caparra & Siciliani, combining generations of expertise to produce exceptional wines that embody the essence of Cirò’s unique terroir.
Caparra & Siciliani exclusively produces wines in the Cirò and "classic Cirò" regions, using grapes sourced from the family-owned 213 hectares of vineyards. With a modern winery capable of producing up to 31,000 hectoliters, housed in advanced facilities that include 150 oak barrels from Allier, the winery blends tradition and innovation. The winemaking process, overseen by renowned Italian oenologist Dr. Fabrizio Ciufoli, ensures meticulous attention to every detail. From vineyard to bottle, each wine is crafted with passion, expertise, and a commitment to excellence. Caparra & Siciliani’s wines reflect the richness of Calabria's ancient land, offering a true expression of the region’s unparalleled winemaking heritage.
