We are a young company born from the passion of two brothers for agriculture and viticulture. We started in 2003 with the recovery of abandoned terraces in Granaro di Ceramida, a small hamlet of Bagnara Calabra (RC) overlooking the splendid Costa Viola. We have started a project for the production of wines from native vines: Zibibbo and Calabrese Nero in particular. Recently we have experimented with some international varieties: Sirah and Cabernet Sauvignon. In addition to our children, family members, and many childhood friends who have become involved in the project, they too are in love with this land. The vinification cellar is located in a small room in the old village of Ceramida, where the equipment for vinification has been placed, which is done with traditional and artisanal techniques. We do not use barrels or barriques for aging, but everything is done in steel vats.

Azienda Agricola Cosimo Murace has been a family-run business since 1998, founded and managed by Cosimo Murace, who is both a winemaker and enologist. A passionate individual dedicated to his work, nature, and people, Cosimo adopted organic farming methods from the very beginning, achieving organic certification with the very first vintage. In 1996, he also obtained the Bivongi DOC appellation. His journey in the wine industry began at the age of 18, working for a wine company for nearly 10 years before establishing his own brand. The company is now based in Bivongi, a charming village located just 20 km from the Ionian coast of Calabria, with a small vineyard of 3 hectares nestled in the surrounding hills. Since 2020, Cosimo’s daughter, Valentina, has joined the business, bringing a fresh perspective by redesigning the labels, updating the website and social media presence, and introducing new experiences such as wine tastings at the winery and the "Tour in Vigna" experience (a guided vineyard tour followed by a wine tasting), giving greater visibility to her father's work.

Ceraudo Azienda Agricola
(Winery in Calabria)

Provides 1 wine tasting and winery visit from €159.00
For over 30 years, Ceraudo Azienda Agricola has steadfastly committed to organic farming practices, deliberately avoiding the use of chemicals in the soil, on the plants, and during the processing of their products. This commitment has not been without its challenges. Initially, the transition to organic farming resulted in a significant reduction in production, a common hurdle faced by those choosing to forgo chemical inputs. While chemical agriculture can yield up to ten times more produce, it often depletes the soil, rendering it less viable for future cultivation. Ceraudo Azienda Agricola, however, has embraced a different path, one that prioritizes the long-term health of the land over short-term gains. The philosophy is rooted in the belief that the land is a precious resource that must be preserved with the utmost care. This approach reflects a broader respect for the environment and a commitment to sustainability. The goal is not to increase profits by boosting production quantities but to enhance the company’s reputation through the superior quality of its wines. This dedication to maintaining high standards and producing exceptional products highlights a commitment to quality over quantity, ensuring that each bottle is a true reflection of the land's potential and the principles of organic farming.

It belongs to the Malaspina family, where each member contributes differently to the production process. Consolato, the founder and cornerstone; Franca, his wife and the central figure of the staff/family; and their four daughters, Domenica, Caterina, Irene, and Patrizia, who are involved in management, administration, production, and promotion. The winery, where the grapes are received and processed and where the resulting wines undergo maturation and refinement, is located in Melito di Porto Salvo, a municipality in the province of Reggio Calabria, situated by the sea. The company produces grapes on a 9-hectare area, including owned and leased land, and olive oil from a 3-hectare olive grove. The vineyards are situated in the town of Palizzi, in the Dareri district, at an elevation of about 500 meters, where Nocera and Calabrese Nero vines are cultivated using the alberello method. They are also located in the municipality of Melito di Porto Salvo, where Gaglioppo and Magliocco vines are grown using the spalliera (trellis) method. These vineyards share a hilly position and a marvelous exposure. Each of them offers a different view of the Ionian Sea. Provides 1 wine tasting and winery visit from €25.00
The extraordinary story of Senatore Vini began in the early 1900s with Giuseppe Sculco, the great-great-grandfather who started a modest cellar in "Corfù Vecchiu." Later, Francesco Senatore continued the tradition, venturing into winemaking with a passion that has spanned generations. After World War I, Antonio Senatore planted new vineyards in the 1930s, laying the foundations of today's family-run wine estate. In the 1940s, Antonio and his brother Raffaele expanded the business by building a stone cellar in “Corfù Novu,” which became the heart of Senatore Vini for nearly half a century. The family's unwavering dedication to quality winemaking is evident in how subsequent generations continued to grow the estate. Giuseppe and Franco, the next in line, inherited the vineyards and learned the art of viticulture from a young age. Raffaele and Salvatore, although becoming medical professionals, still remained deeply connected to the family roots. In a modernizing effort, they planned a new wine complex in the beautiful San Lorenzo region in Ciró Marina. The family’s new generation—Antonio, Emilio, and Vito—has now taken over, carrying the winery into the future. They blend the wisdom of their ancestors with modern techniques to ensure that Senatore Vini remains a leader in Calabrian winemaking, known for its deep connection to the land, the art of winemaking, and enduring family traditions. Today, Senatore Vini stands as a symbol of perseverance, respect for the land, and mastery of winemaking, passed down through generations, making it a legend in the history of Calabrian viticulture.
